This H-FABP test is used to determine the content of Heart Fatty Acid binding Protein (H-FABP) in human serum or plasma.
Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is one of the common critical diseases of clinical cardiovascular disease. Human heart fatty acid-binding protein is a low molecular weight (14~15KD) cytoplasmic protein in the cytoplasm of cardiomyocytes. It has strong myocardial specificity and is not degraded in the blood. The heart-type fatty acid-binding protein is one of the earliest markers released into the blood circulation during myocardial injury. As an early marker of myocardial injury, H-FABP has a high diagnostic value in the early stage of AMI (especially STAMI), especially in 0 to 6 hours, and has high sensitivity and specificity.
The antibody of Human Heart Fatty Acid binding Protein is coated on the latex surface.
The H-FABP in the sample and the antibody become immune complexes by Latex agglutination reaction.
The immune complexes will produce the phenomenon of light scattering which is proportional to the intensity of scattered light and samples of H-FABP levels.
Using a specific protein analyzer to measure the intensity of scattered light, the concentration of the H-FABP cardiac marker is determined by comparing the turbidity of samples to the standard concentration.
